MiniQ Data Analysis Services:  The New Mind Magnitude Analysis System

We provide data analysis services for individuals using the  Brainmaster MiniQ System or excel tables containing homologus pairs of sites that correspond to that format.  The MiniQ was developed through a co-operative effort with Brainmaster Technologies to assist clinicians just entering the field in acquiring quantitative EEG maps for their clinical practice at an affordable price.  Although the ISNR has issued a formal statement indicating that quantitative methods are the preferred approach for neurofeedback assessment, a great many practitioners are trained in alternative methods when they first begin their training.  Over time they often become interested in other more empirical methods, such as qEEG, but the cost of acquiring eqipment, databases and training to collect research grade qEEGs is prohibitive.  The MiniQ provides these individuals the opportunity to experiment with this approach to see if qEEG is a methode of assessment and protocol determination that they wish to pursue.  Those who become adept at using the MiniQ can go on to acquire the Thatcher Database and related equipment with the confidence that they understand the basics of neurometrics and will be able to invest in more sophisticated technologies and use it with assurance to the best advantage of their clients.

Now practitioners who own the Brainmaster MiniQ System can upload their qat files directly to the internet and get a pdf file like the one below in minutes.

Our MinQ Magnitude Analysis System is not a normative database system but it is highly predictive of outcomes from more expensive database systems.  It is an expert system that does a lot of the interpetive work for you that only years of cinical experience with normative databases can provide.  After over a decade of experience with all the major database systems, we have constructed this one to be simple, accurate, and straight forward for those just learning this approach.  It also provides additional tools for learning more about qEEG and gaining insight to all aspects of its application. For most clinicians, the distribution of magnitude alone is more than enough information to develop effective protocols, but now they can begin to study and apply other dimensions for analysis for clinical use.  In addition, the cost per map is very small and does not require buying the database and paying to maintain it.

The Magnitude Analysis System interfaces with the subjective Cognitive and Emotional Problems Reports on the same New Mind Assessment website so practitioners can match problem areas based on subjective report with objective brainmap analysis. The Interactive Self analysis Inventory designed to uncover dimensions of socio-emotional interaction that are problematic for clients will also be linked in the future to our expert system so clinicians can relate these dimensions of socio-emotional behavior to EEG patterns of distrbution.  Clients can be more effetively resocialized at the same time related areas of their brain are being trained with neurofeedback.

Finally, the Symptom Check list can be used from the same site to easily track client progress over sessions.  Clients can easily see their own progress with this tracking system and be assured they are experiencing the best outcomes for their investment of time, effort adn money

Be sure to visit the different pages on this site and learn abou these tools.  Then visit our new assessment site and try them out for yourself.  We feel confident that these tools will greatly enhance your clinical outcomes in neurofeedback.

The sample at the left shows magnitude for delta, theta, alpha and beta of a yourng client.  In this case theta is very high suggesting ADHD and delta is very high suggesting LD.

Below it is the dominant frequency which tells us in this instance that alpha is slower than usual and that there is more power in the low frequency alpha band.  We can also see that beta is slower than average as well.

Next we can see that the coherence, or how much one brain area is talking to another, is very high across most of the brain.  There is a traffic jam in the brain, so to speak.

Below cherence is phase which tells us about the quality of the coherence.

Finally, the asymmetry tells us that the high levels of theta in this client are more on the right side and according to Lubar impulsivity will be a major issue.
The Cognitive Analysis prints out likely areas of cognitive problems to be investigated in black, while the areas in red are very likely areas of greatest concern.

The Magnitude Analysis System also generates a report indicating areas of likely emotional problems, with the areas in red againpossibly being areas of greatest concern.

In addition each report will also generate possible neurofeedback protocols based on its expert system.
